Are the courses open to all levels?
Absolutely! Training basics with Shifu gives you the best and strongest foundation for your martial arts practice. The deeper the roots, the stronger the tree. All levels can refine and sharpen basics. We never stop learning. The more mastery you attain, the more you realize how much there is left to learn. Whether you are a beginner or not, a learning Shifu’s method will be beneficial for martial arts practice – and life.
How does the online course training work?
You work through the course module by module at your own pace, completing the training instructions and associated tasks. You get direct access to all course content. Adittionally you can post questions which SiFu can answer and you can also see questions and answers posted by other students.
How do I know which course is suitable for me?
It really depends on what you are looking for. Each course offers its unique benefits, but as life has everything, so does Shaolin Martial Arts. They work in tandem together and you will notice the benefits both physically and mentally. Qigong strengthens the body and unblocks the flow of chi. Kung Fu is the most aerobic of the courses, consisting of stretching, stances, kicks, movements, etc. We have an introductory package offer which combines both Shaolin Kung Fu & Yi Jin Jing Qi Gong into one membership if you want to experience both.
How many times should I repeat an exercise and how many times should I practice per week?
Everyone is different, you must find yourself. Find a rhythm that works for you, get to know yourself and understand yourself. There is no prescription, you make your own destiny. What is important is that you sharper yourself every day and take discipline to stick with it. You decide.
How are the modules structured/divided?
The kung fu course has 6 different units: Introduction, Warm-Up Parts I & II, Foundation stances, strikes, kicks, and Chuji Quan Tao.
The Qi gong courses each have an introduction, historical information & context, & the demonstration/name of each movement in the sequence. Yi Jing Jing has 12 moves, Ba Duan Jin has 8 moves.
